Dakota is my name and I am around 6 years old. I came into rescue nearly starved and some very kind rescuers fostered me for awhile before sending me to Nebraska. I will be forever grateful to them for saving my life.
Prior to rescue life was not easy for me. Never enough to eat. I am still working on gaining my weight back slowly but surely. I don’t hold grudges. You see, I have a sense of humor. Truly I do! I can do a full smile and I am also a “clacker”. I love to clack my jaws together. This is all in play as I am a playful boy.
My foster dad says I am a very smart boy. I walk great on a leash and I listen when he tells me to wait. When he lets me out of my crate I “tell” him what I want: to go outside, to eat, to play. I know “sit” and “down” and “wait”. I play nicely with my foster sister and we have a good time together. I have not been exposed to cats.
I really want to please and respond well to words like “no” if I need to be corrected. I am loving and playful, ride nicely in the car as well.
I hate to admit this as a dog but sometimes I can be a finicky eater. In other words, skip the vegetables and what is good for me and give me the other stuff. Sometimes I just don’t want to eat but not to worry I will when I am ready, it’s just my way. Oh and one other thing: I don’t care for rabbits or squirrels.

All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted.
We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes.
In most cases we require a fenced yard.
We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason.
Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.
