* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Danny is a 1 year old Terrier mix who weighs 25lbs. He was a rescue from the shelter. He was listed as a stray at the shelter and whoever previously owned him never showed up to claim him. Initially he and his little buddy would hide in the back corner and were super shy. But then they began to blossom and were up front and seeking attention. That shy act is long gone...
Danny loves to play with other dogs. He plays in 10-15 minute spurts and then calms down and hangs out. Then in a few hours him and his buddies are at it again! He's just a great dog to join another dog or to go to the dog park or doggy day camp. If work is dog friendly he is definitely a great option. Danny also lives with cats. he's an option to go to a home with cats.
Danny is not a barker. If he barks, there's generally a reason. He's crate trained and learning how to use a doggy door. He is a total cuddler type of dog. He will come up and snuggle up to your feet or sit next to you on the couch. He loves to be with his people but he's not needy. He has an amazing personality.
Danny is not a barker. He is an option for kids over the age of 8. He's an option for those who have had a dog in the last 5 years.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
