My name is Daphne and I'm a survivor! When I was found by an ADORE volunteer, I was in seriously bad shape. I had one of the worst cases of mange that you could imagine. My skin was dry and itchy and I was missing fur all over my body. A too tight collar around my neck let the ADORE team know that I was once someone's best friend, but they had abandoned me. I found a dirty mattress, piled with trash that I used as a bed while I waited for starvation. Instead, I found salvation in the form of a new human friend. This time, I knew I would never be abandoned again.
Fast forward just a few short months and my mange has completely disappeared and been replaced with a shiny black and white coat. My face, once covered in wounds, now has the playful look of a healthy puppy, even though I'm fully grown! Amazingly, I was heartworm negative despite my long life as a stray. I've always been a sweet dog who has never once shown any aggression to anyone! As you can imagine, life without human friends has made me a little shy, but I will learn to trust again if you give me a little time and a gentle pat on the head. If anyone deserves a life of luxury after living in such horrific conditions, it's me! I want to know what it is like to be pampered, have a best friend, and never have to worry where my next meal will come from. If you can give me that life, I would be forever grateful!
Daphne is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.
