(Web viewers: See Darcy''s video below!)
Darcy came to us after being in another shelter for over 3 months. She blossomed quickly once in a foster home. She was naturally housetrained and has never had a single accident. Darcy is happy to spend hours sunbathing or lounging on the couch. She will adapt to your schedule and will be content with a walk in the neighborhood or an aerobic hike or jog. This girl is not only gorgeous, she''s dynamic; Darcy can go from sedentary to athletic, mellow to playful, regal to goofy, attentive to independent. She is affectionate but not pushy about it and is smart, loyal, and curious.
Darcy asks for very little but does like to have company more often than not. Even during her adjustment period when she was anxious about being left alone (something that has all but disappeared), she was never destructive. While she does `talk` sometimes, we have still never heard her bark. She''s a champ in the car and would be a great ride-along dog.
Darcy gets overexcited about cats (and squirrels!) so she needs a home with no small animals. She has coexisted well with other dogs but in her ideal home, she will get to be your one and only. With her dog friends, she gets wild, fabulous zoomies, loves to chase and be chased, but also knows how to break from play and actually does more milling about that actual play. When she does engage, she has lovely play manners and will wow you with her athleticism. Her primary interest is human contact and she''d be fine not having doggie playdates. She is a civilized girl and would probably not enjoy a gaggle of rowdy toddlers in her new home. She would tolerate them but not have any fun. She loves to wrestle and snuggle with her human family but also knows how to do downtime and has lovely house manners.
