Dude showed up as a stray on one of our volunteer's porch in May of this year. I got him. He wasn't fixed at the time, but he is now. He always seemed to breathe weird and after showing a video to our director it was determined he was belly breathing and needed to see a vet. Upon examination the vet discovered a diaphragm hernia. His abdominal organs were pushing up on his lungs causing him to breath funny. There were no signs of trauma, just the breathing so whatever happened to cause this was way before he showed up on that porch.
Dude had surgery where they moved his abdominal organs back where they belong. He is doing amazing and back to normal now. No more weird breathing and he's happy he's not on the streets anymore. Dude is now at our adoption center and ready for adoption. Estimated to be 1 or 2 years of age, Dude is tested FeLV/FIV negative, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and ready for a home of his own. Visit our cage free adoption center and meet Dude.
