Handsome, strong and energetic is what best describes Duke. He is a two year old purebred German Shepherd, who through no fault of his own was surrendered to a Pennsylvania Shelter. Duke is currently in a foster home with another German Shepherd and is enjoying every minute.
Duke's stunning good looks will turn the heads of neighbors as you walk him down the street. Dukes leash manners have improved with the help of his foster family. Duke does know some commands and responds to them well, but to help him reach his fullest potential, Duke will need to be enrolled in training at the time of his adoption. Duke is a bit unsure of himself at first about being approached, but will warm up after proper introductions. He does seem to warm up to women faster than he does men. Once Duke warms up, he will be your best friend and will smother you with kisses. Grab a tennis ball or a toy and this boy will be ready to play. Duke is not a fan of cats and exhibits a prey drive for other small animals so he is best suited in a home with no small animals. Duke is friendly with most dogs. The ideal adopter for Duke will enjoy providing him with daily exercise and mental stimulation, know how to be a strong leader and be prepared to have fun with this active boy. Duke is neutered and up to date on shots.
