Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
Duchess is a loving, medium-sized Italian greyhound/terrier mix who is about 3 years old and weighs 37 pounds. She and her daughter, Queenie, were dropped off about three weeks ago at a construction site. After being observed and fed for 2 days, and reported as missing , it was obvious that no one was looking for them, so they were taken to foster homes. They were both very sweet, and so pleased to have a bath and attention. Duchess loves other dogs and people, although she is timid with people until she understands that they are trustworthy. Once she knows that, she will do anything to please. She is house trained, plays well, and is learning to sit and stay. She appeared to have had multiple litters of puppies before being set out. She is spayed and fully vetted and ready for a new home. She would make a wonderful playmate for any dog, or a wonderful companion for any person. Unfortunately, Duchess does not do well with cats.
