My name is Edith and I am over a year old. I was found hungry, pregnant, and lonely in a parking lot by Northridge Hospital. My foster mom has nursed me
back to health and I am ready to make someone happy. I am the perfect lap cat. Don’t let my shyness trick you into thinking I am not adorable. I am picture shy but I am really pretty in person. I am FIV positive but this does not mean I cannot be around other cats.
Edith has tested FIV+ on a snap test. She is great with other cats and dogs.
FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. Click here to read an excellent article about FIV.
