Elroy is out of the shelter being cared for in a foster home where he can get more attention then we are able to offer. Elroy came to the shelter missing some fur, but he already looks a lot better than when he came in a few weeks ago. Volunteers love this fellow who tell us he is sweet, gentle, curious, great on a leash and a GOOD DOG. He will lean in to you for love. Elroy is fully grown and weighs about 45 pounds.
His foster home says, "Elroy is doing awesome! He's very sweet and agreeable, and has also started to play with our two dogs and running around. He's starting to build up some endurance to go for runs, but he prefers walks still. His skin is clearing up well. He likes to snuggle and snores a good bit. He stays in a kennel at night and only whines a little bit before going to sleep. He has had no problems with other dogs, people, or the cats. He likes to say hi to people at the park and doesn't get worked up about other animals. Our next goal is to start teaching him to sit, lay down, etc."
The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter adoption fee is $67. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, mandatory spay/neuter, heartworm test, and microchip.
