*THIS IS A TWO DOG ADOPTION POST. DOGS MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER*
I am looking for a very special
home for these two . Emerson and Baby against all odds have survived distemper , not only having the virus but having neurological distemper. They have been with me ( Holli ) since 1/20 .The first 45 days w me they received round the clock care , literally. I drove them to Texas for the NVD spinal tap , they got meds every two hours , fed every 3 hours and proved to me every day they had a will to live that couldn't be ignored .They have been given the best of the best care in an effort to overcome and beat the virus. Today they are distemper free per the most accurate blood test.
They can not be separated under any circumstances as they have a bond that if broken I'm truly afraid would cause them to suffer more than the virus ever caused them
to. They would be considered special needs dogs and I truly hope there is an angel out there who would want to give them a forever home.
I wish more than anything I could keep them but I can't , I have 4 dogs as it is and travel back and forth to Baja and honestly they deserve to be the center of someone's world as they have been mine for the last 3 months.
Just to be clear these distemper survivors aren't broken and don't have the plague . The virus is gone it isn't coming back and they will not get worse . These are facts from a well respected vet who has more knowledge about distemper than anyone I have communicated with since day one ( trust me I have talked to over 30 )They are survivors and after all they have been through deserve the same amount of love and devotion any other dog does. Emerson and Baby do have neurological issues that over time will subside. They are happy , playful , smart , affectionate pups . Although there are no guarantees with ANY dogs future health , I do trust the opinion of this vet I have been given guidance from through this whole nightmare. She herself has a distemper survivor with neuro issues. I have stopped reading all the different opinions all over the Internet, as at the end of the day facts are facts and unless you see one of these survivors through it all the way you can't claim the prognosis is poor.
If you could possibly be the person that would open your home to these two very special dogs or know someone who may have a soft spot for the under dog ,please email me your contact info and we can discuss the facts, their future and their needs . As I type this tears run down my cheek as I honestly don't know how I will let them go , but this is what it's all about . I saved their lives so they could bring joy to someone else's life . I have spent many hours crying since they came into my home but many more smiling and laughing . They are true miracles and they deserve the best, Holli firstname.lastname@example.org
