About Me: Emma looks like she's dipped in hot fudge and drizzled in caramel, and she's that sweet too! She is looking for a family to give her long walks every day and let her try her hand at some obedience training. She would likely be the star student. Her foster mom is amazed at how fast she picks up commands and how long she can practice her "wait" command, while staring at her dinner, until given the go ahead to chow down.
She loves, loves, loves to be with people and is hoping for a family who will let her be where the action is. Or the snuggles. She gets lonely when she has to be left out of the room and misses her people. Stuffed toys are also her very favorite and she loves shaking them and throwing them in the air. She is crate trained while her foster family is at work but sleeps in a dog bed at night. She is also potty trained.
Emma had surgery on both of her hips as result of a birth defect and her progress is going great. Her family will need to help her build muscle on her right side, with lots of long walks, as she is still healing, but she is otherwise a very happy, healthy pup. Her surgeon is very pleased with her progress, but will want to see her again for a follow-up in 6 months.
Emma loves other dogs but needs to have slow introductions. She can get overly excited to meet new dogs and can come on strong, which some dogs do not appreciate. Taking her to obedience class will help her with her manners so the good times can roll. Older children would do best with Emma as her excitement may knock over little ones.
Overall Emma is a sweet dog that loves the easy life, with lots and lots of playing mixed in. She can't wait to find her furever family!
