Adoption Fee $300
Ernie was surrendered to a high kill shelter. His previous owner had kept him in an outdoor kennel where he received very little socialization.
Ernie is very apprehensive around people. He is curious and inquisitive, but still very unsure when people approach him or try to touch him.
He has made some nice strides since being in foster care. He is doing much better with housetraining and gets along well with the other dogs and cat in his foster home. He is VERY food motivated and now takes treats out of his foster mom's hands (he loves Cheerios!).
This little guy is quite the toy hoarder! He loves to collect toys around the house and bring them to his crate. If he finds one he really likes, he will find a spot outside to hide it for safekeeping. It's quite endearing to watch him racing around looking for the perfect spot!
Ernie has a cute and spunky personality. He just needs to learn that people are OK and won't hurt him. If you are patient and willing to give this little one time to adjust ... he won't disappoint you!
A home with a fenced yard is required for Ernie at this time. He is afraid of the leash and will need someone to work with him on leash walking.
A home with another balanced dog is required for Ernie at this time. He really takes his cues from other dogs and this will help him continue to learn how to be a well adjusted companion.
