Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier mix
DOB: est 7/2011
Color(s): Light brindle
My name is FACE! I'm a young, affectionate American Staffordshire Terrier mix with an unusual and absolutely beautiful light brindle coat. I look like a tiger! I'm extremely gentle, loving, and cuddly. I'll lay in your lap if you let me! I walk pretty well on a leash, too, and I'm very responsive to verbal commands. I know "sit", "down", "give me your paw", and my name, and I'm very obedient and alert.
I've been working with a professional trainer, and it's done me so much good! The volunteers who sponsor me decided to gift two more training sessions to the lucky family who adopts me! The trainer will come to you, anywhere in Ventura County!
I've been participating in play groups at C.A.R.L., and I've found that I am a big fan of small dogs! My tail just starts wagging like crazy when I see them, and I'm so gentle when I greet them. I love just hanging out with them, following them around and watching them run. I like many large dogs too but not all of them, so if you have one we should do a meet and greet.
I was relinquished to a high kill shelter in Los Angeles by a family who had me for three years, then suddenly decided they didn't have time for me anymore. And they kept me outside all the time, too! A few C.A.R.L. volunteers saw me on Facebook, and decided to help by networking me online. They call me "The Crowdsourced Rescue Dog", because about twenty people contributed to sponsoring me at C.A.R.L.! On the day I was to be euthanized, four C.A.R.L. volunteers traveled to the South LA Shelter and pulled me with the help of three other rescues. I'm so lucky to have so many people pulling for me!
Naturally, I have my own Facebook page now. You can follow it at www.facebook.com/ToSaveFace.
