.Hi! I’m Felicia!
I’m very excited to be living with a Ruff Start Rescue foster family! Once upon a time, I had a family of my own but things kept changing and pretty soon, I ended up at a place called a shelter. I heard I was at risk of something called “euthanasia” until a nice lady from Ruff Start Rescue took me home in a car. She said I’d be living with her until I find the family I will have forever and ever.
When I got to my foster family’s house, I was scared at first, but they are showing me all kinds of exciting, new things! I’m learning how nice it is to have a regular routine so I know what to expect every day instead of always wondering what was going to happen to me next. I’m finding out that a crate isn’t a scary place, and how to do fancy things like go potty outside. I was never taught that with my first family but I think it’s pretty cool. My foster mom is also teaching me lots of other stuff like “down” and walking nicely on a leash, but I’ve completely mastered “sit” and it makes me feel so proud! But honestly, learning is fun and I’ll do just about anything for a treat!
I LOVE children. They are so much fun and I try to be gentle when I’m with them. I also love adult people too but sometimes it takes me a little bit longer to warm up to them. Once I do, I’m their best friend! Sometimes new things make me a little bit nervous but I accustom quickly and know that my people will keep me safe.
I’m still learning what toys are because I don’t think I’ve ever had one before but I think they’re awesome, especially the soft toys because when I’m done playing with them, I can cuddle with them while I nap. I enjoy playing outside and sometimes on hot days, my foster mom will turn on the hose and laugh at how daintily I drink from it. And if you like road trips, I’m the girl for you because I love to ride in the car!
Right now, I’m living with a doggy foster brother and sister. I haven’t had an opportunity to play with dogs very much so I’m still learning proper manners with them. I play nicely with my foster brother and he’s showing me “the ropes.” I’ve never lived with cats so I’m not too sure how I feel about them.
I also know that I cannot wait for a forever family to adopt me and keep me safe forever! I’ve had so much fun learning how to be a regular dog with my foster family but I’m ready to have a family of my own for keeps. Could that be with you?
