It’s been a week since Fischer has arrived. We rescued Fischer from a high kill shelter in Georgia. He was a favorite at the shelter and when the plea went out that he was urgent we had to help him.
Fischer has settled nicely into the pack. He is low key and lovable. He loves to snuggle and thinks he’s a little lap dog, he just wants to curl up and love you. But he can step up the energy level when he wants to! He loves playing with his foster brother Rocco they will run around and chase each other or wrestle until they wear each other out. Fischer would ideally like a home with other young dogs and a fenced backyard to play in. But he does know that his older foster brother Sirius is not much for playing but he will lay next to him for some lazy afternoons just as happily. He eats harmoniously with the other dogs and he’s a good eater and will stop eating if he’s full.
He walks great on the leash , never pulling. He does get excited when he sees a rabbit or squirrel. We have already taught him to come when we call his name, sit, and he almost has paw, he’s one smart cookie!
He’s a great guy in the create! He’s still learning what he can and can’t chew on so we keep in the create at night and during the day while we are at work. He goes right in when we ask him to, and never whines or complains. We are so excited to have been able to save this guy, he’s going to make someone a GREAT companion
Fischer is a 2 year old Shepherd/Rottie mix weighing in at 48 lbs. He is neutered, current on his vaccines and healthy. Fischer is being fostered in MD and an approved adopter should be willing to meet him/adopt him in MD.
