Hi, my name is Bentley. I did it! I stole my Foster Mom’s heart in less than two minutes. All I had to do is cuddle right up to everyone who took time to pet me. I love all the attention! When someone pets me I sit down nice and close and look up at them with my loving eyes and then they get all giddy about me.
If you are thinking about a big black Lab/Collie mix that is three years old and about 60 lbs, there are some things you should know about me. I love people, I am not afraid of men, I am good with children, I don’t beg, or counter surf, I don’t chew on anything I shouldn’t, I don’t get up on the furniture, I am 100% house broken, I never mark anything, I tolerate a bath, I love to go on walks and walk very nicely on the a leash – any kind of leash retractable or just a regular leash, I get along with other dogs, and I am pretty mellow. I try to be as close to perfect as possible.
At my home in Wisconsin, I have a dog sister. She isn’t very friendly but I am working on winning her over. Even when she tries to put me in my place, I never get angry. I am just waiting for her to relax a little bit so we can play together. Every night we go on a walk together, I love that time. I jog during our walks and I would love to go for several miles but we usually go for a mile each night.
At night I sleep by the back door. My Foster Mom puts up a gate and I never test it. I would rather cuddle in a bed but this is a lot better than being in the pound, maybe my new family will let me sleep with them. I dream of all the fun I am going to have with my new family. I am hoping for a lot of cuddle time and long walks on the weekends! I promise I will be a very good boy!
Adoption Fee: $400
We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433
***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians.
Our Weight Classes are as follows:
0- 25lbs - Small
26- 45lbs - Medium
46-89 - Large
If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following:
Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped.
If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee.
Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home.
If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home.
If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all.
Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.
DANGER!!! BEWARE!!! This organization is not to be trusted!!!!!!! Dawn Boeselager, the head of this "Rescue" is a real piece of work. I got a bad feel about her from the start, but we fell in love with our puppy, Nacho, as soon as we brought her home so we decided to grin a bear it. We put up with her obnoxious attitude because we loved our puppy and our puppy was very happy with us. I should note that the other two reps were very nice and friendly. Don't be fooled! They can't/won't help you in the end. No one seems to be able to stand up to Dawn and tell her she is wrong. Here is our sad puppy tale. We passed all the criteria, the background check, the vet check... We were cleared to see their dogs and brought Nacho home for our mandatory "foster-to-adopt" 5-day period. We informed Tailwaggers911 of our desire to adopt this puppy at the end of the 5 days and Ange came to do our home inspection a few days later. She said we passed and welcomed us to the Tailwaggers family. She took our family photo for the Happy Tails section of their web site (the pic was even posted on their web page the day after). She told us for legal purposes she could not take the contracts and payment with her and that we should mail it to Dawn directly or she would come pick it up. The following is the email we received later that evening: "**** Family, Attached is your happy tail picture. Thank you for allowing me into your home to complete your home visit. I know that Nacho is doing well, and is very loved and taken care of with your family. Please remember to send me the details about her wisdom panel once you get the results! I am so curious as to what her mix is :) I wish you a very happy life together. Remember, that you are always a part of the Tailwaggers family and we are here to help if you need us and we would love updates and pictures from time to time. Congratulations again, Ange" I am including this letter because I think anyone who pursues a dog through this agency should know that their dog will never be "theirs" for sure. Dawn came the next day, before my husband got home from work. I thought she was there to get the paperwork. She came into our house and took our puppy away. She said we could not afford her and would not take our payment. She would not discuss the matter and tried to push me over to leave our house. My kids were freaked!!! When her yelling turned to her hand on my clothes and around my neck I called 911. The police came and almost arrested her for pushing them. Belligerence, verbal and physical abuse aside, the police said that since she had not taken payment for the dog it was still legally hers and if we did not give Nacho back to her she could sue us for everything we own. Our hearts are broken and I find myself leery to be in my yard, least she come back in retaliation of my sharing this experience. But I am sickened at the thought of another family hurting the way we are now. I just can't say "beware" enough! I urge you not to trust them!
