Fraggle is a two-year-old Wheaton terrier mix whose adorable face and winsome personality will win your heart. According to his foster family, he loves to play, especially with his ball, but is also just as happy to sit quietly by your feet while you're busy with other things. He also loves to go for walks in areas where it's quiet and he isn't worried about lots of people and other dogs. Like many adolescent dogs, Fraggle can be anxious when strangers come in to the house or come too close to him too quickly when outside. His foster mom has been working on this with him and he is definitely making steps towards becoming more confident. He can also be reactive to other dogs when on leash, but is learning to be comfortable with another family dog. CHILDREN: Fraggle will do best in a quiet home without the flurry of activity that goes along with children. DOGS: As Fraggle is anxious around other dogs, he will do best as an only dog. CATS: No. HOUSETRAINING: Is both housetrained and crate-trained. TRAINING: Fraggle is easy to walk on leash and responds to cues for sit, down, paw, wait and "watch me" (especially if he knows there are cookies nearby). He loves to train and is able to learn new behaviors very quickly. As he is still working on his reactivity to other dogs and strangers, his training can easily be done at home with great success. He will also do best in a home with a fenced-in yard so that he can burn off some of his energy without the worry of strange dogs or people approaching him. Positive reinforcement is the way to help this boy achieve his potential as a great companion!
