This stunning beauty is Freckles! Freckles' mom was very pregnant when she was rescued after years of trying to catch her and then gave birth to Freckles and her litter mates two weeks later on Christmas Day. What more beautiful gift on Christmas than life! Freckles appears to be a Pointer/German Shepherd mix (her mom was a Shepherd). Because she's not known any life outside of the shelter, Freckles will need to be house trained, but she is already crate trained and walks well on a leash - she loves a brisk walk! She also loves to play and romp but isn't demanding of large amounts or long active events. Freckles is good with other dogs though she tends to want to be the alpha dog, and she has a healthy respect for cats, but isn't actually overly interested in them. She has done well with meeting people at various outings and would probably be fine with children. A fenced yard is recommended (6-ft. wooden) for Freckles, but she will climb a fence if left alone and gets bored. She also exhibits storm anxiety and tries to escape when there's bad weather. (She managed to get out of a 10x10 metal pen with a roof recently during a thunder storm.) Freckles loves toys and LOVES water! She would definitely be an ideal beach buddy! She will play fetch, but doesn't always bring the object back. She's affectionate, eager to please, smart and even-tempered. An obedience class is recommended, not just for the bonding aspect of it, but it helps with confidence building and socialization. Summer's almost here so fill out an application for Freckles today! You'll want to have some time to get to know one another before beach season hits! And Freckles is waiting just for you to take her there!
