Genie is a 2-3 year old mix (the rescue is guessing Shar Pei/Pit Bull Terrier) who came to us from Texas. She has the most beautiful light tan fur, gorgeous eyes and that cute, smashed Shar Pei snout. It looks like Genie did not have very good luck with humans up until now but you would never know that based on how much she loves people. If she could be with her human at all times she would be so happy, her favorite place is curled up next to her human on the couch with her head in a lap. Genie is learning her manners, how not to jump, how to walk nicely on a leash and how to meet people. Because Genie is still learning her manners, she would do best with a family with older children, like teenagers. She is very treat motivated and a quick learner. She is good with other dogs and ignores her foster family's cats. Genie does well in a kennel over night and when her people are gone. She loves chewing on bones and kongs filled with yummy treats. Genie came to the rescue skin and bones so she does not do well with free feeding and will have to be fed at least twice a day. Even though she eats her food quickly, she does not have any food aggression. The other dogs in her house are near her when she eats and she doesn't care. Her foster mom can take her bowl in the middle of her eating and Genie won't do anything. Genie would be a great addition to any family. She would love a family that would take her on walks or even better on hikes or runs. She has so much love to give and any home would be lucky to have her.
If you are interested in adopting Genie please submit an adoption application located on our website, www.coloradocaninerescue.org. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. We are asking for a $175 adoption donation for Genie. As with any of our dogs, we are guessing at her age and breed.
