Gidget’s foster mom describes her as perfect! She says Gidget is “good with dogs, cats and kids. House trained, not crate trained because I leave her out in my house while gone and she's perfect. Rarely barks and loves to snuggle!” Gidget was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Louisiana after her owners decided they could no longer care for her. Because of crowding at the shelter, Gidget was in danger of being put to sleep. Thankfully, she was saved thanks to a great friendship between PAWS of NE LA and The Chi Society. Gidget is a 2 year old, 15#, Miniature Pinscher mix. Gidget has been thriving in foster care and is well loved by her foster family. Gidget’s foster mom says, “Gidget is a very mellow girl. She's perfectly fine sitting on a sofa most of the day. However, especially with dogs close to her size, she LOVES to play and will as long as the other dog will let her. She is great with all children. She's been with children ages 5 and up and I can't imagine any issues with any other age. She is good with other dogs, however, when Gidget meets a new dog, she does feel a little threatened at first. It seems to be any dog she meets...whether large or small. She may even growl. She has never, ever done anything more than a small growl, and she's been exposed to lots of dogs! However, once she knows she's safe, she is very thankful to have another dog around and seems to really enjoy the company. Gidget truly would be great in almost any home. She seems to almost be like a chameleon and tries to fit in wherever she goes.”
Gidget is spayed, micro chipped, current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention and fully vaccinated. Upon rescue, she did test positive for heartworm but has breezed through treatment and will be heartworm free and ready to transport home in mid August. All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative. In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog. In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs. Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog. Thank you for considering a rescued pet and we look forward to helping you find a great dog match--
