Houston, TX area: “Ginger” is now available for adoption:
“I have a confession. I can't hold my licker. I try, but my little body just overflows with love and happiness and I have to let it out. I am compelled to give kisses of gratitude to everyone in my path. You see, I had been struggling to survive on my own for quite a while. I endured a beating which broke my pelvis and injured my eye. I was literally starving to death. Don't feel sorry for me though because I am a very resilient little pup. A nice lady stopped to feed me. She knew I wouldn't survive another day on the mean streets of Houston and informed Forgotten Pet Advocates. Several volunteers went out searching for me, eventually giving me and a whole dog family our ride to a better life. I was rushed to the vet who said I would have only made it few more hours. I had been so hungry I ate rocks causing a fist-sized mass in my belly that needed to be removed. After a week I got to go home to my foster. She was surprised to meet such a happy, outgoing little pup. Even though my pelvis is healing, I get around with no problems or pain. I love to play with the other dogs in my foster home. I happily share my toys and treats. I love the children here, especially hiding under the little girl's bed to play peek-a-boo, making her giggle. I think the only sound I like better is the sound of the pantry door. Food, a soft fleece blanket, and lap to snuggle in are my favorite things.
I am most likely a Chihuahua mix, but my foster calls me a "pocket Lab" because I look like a Lab in miniature. I have a laid-back, people pleasing personality. I weigh 14 pounds and the vet guesses I am 1-4 years old. I am crate trained. I am making excellent progress on housetraining and am starting to let my fosters know when I need out. I am spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, microchipped, and come with a year's supply of Heartguard. My adoption fee is $150. Please email email@example.com for more information. I can't wait to start my happily ever after with my own family, could it be yours?”
