GRADY HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.
Grady is an adorable 3 year-old Golden Retriever/Corgi mix male with a dash of Beagle or Basset Hound in the mix too—or at least that’s our best guess! Grady originally came to us in the summer of 2015 from a shelter after having been adopted there but returned because the young children in the home were too rough with him and he wasn’t comfortable with them. Once here with us, he was adopted by a family with older teenagers where he lived for a year before coming back to us recently. His family said that he was not friendly with visitors and had recently growled several times at the teenagers when they were jumping around. Grady definitely needs a quiet home with few visitors. He seems to feel more comfortable initially with women than with men so a female-only, adult home with few visitors is at the top of his wish list. When out and about, Grady's a very friendly guy but he does have the tendency to become very protective of his home and family so someone who is used to living with a dog like this is what he needs. Although he gets along well with other dogs, Grady was an only dog in his previous home. There he had the run of the house when no one was home and showed no separation anxiety. He is also crate-trained and was housebroken in his previous home. Grady is a very loyal dog who just needs to find the right person or couple to make him feel secure. He's a very handsome boy who does love having his picture taken! Grady weighs about 45 pounds (but needs to lose 5-10 pounds to be at his ideal weight). His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email email@example.com if you’re interested in Grady. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Grady and to submit an online application.
