Could Gunner be the perfect dog? If you like a super low-maintenance, quiet, happy dog then he just might be perfect for you. Gunner came to LBL several months ago as a feral dog, and he was very scared of people. However, with a few months of love and training, he's now a friendly guy (if a bit shy) who knows how to sit, lay down, and walk perfectly on a leash. He is friendly with other dogs and he enjoys playing with them, but gets along fine by himself, too. He loves treats and gets more animated when they come out, but otherwise he tends to lay in his crate (with the door open or closed), or on the porch. He's 6-8 years old, his teeth are shiny from his recent dental, and he's got his shots and he's microchipped. When his foster brother gets yelled at (for chewing bad things), Gunner will quietly get up and leave the area. He prefers a peaceful, slow-moving environment. Sudden, loud noises and unexpected physical contact make him jump, so we can only imagine what his life was like before rescue. It's almost like he has PTSD, so if you like a calm environment, and you want an easy going best friend to keep you company, please consider Gunner.
Our adoption fees range from $150-$225 depending on the dog's age. The dogs are all spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have received age appropriate vaccines including rabies, DHPP, and usually bordetella (kennel cough). If you would like to meet one of our dogs, please do the online application at http://lilbitofloverescue.weebly.com/adoption-application.html. You only need to do it once for our organization, regardless of how many of our dogs you are interested in.
