Named for the Hawaiian national park known for rare and breathtaking views, Haleakala the pup is a beauty inside and out! Haleakala was found as a stray wandering around a business park in San Bernardino for 2 weeks. She did not have a collar on her, she was not microchipped, and no trace of a previous owner could be found. Since her arrival at TBL near the end of May 2016, she has had no trouble making friends with other dogs. Haleakala is very comfortable around other dogs of all shapes and sizes. Meeting new people, on the other hand, is where she could use a little more confidence. We are working on getting her acclimated to a leash and collar, but it is still a very new concept to her. Though shy, Haleakala is very sweet and docile with volunteers. She gives very gentle kisses to let you know that she is okay with your presence. Haleakala is a young girl of about 8 months old, weighing about 35-40 pounds. She’ll be closer to 50-55 pounds fully matured. Haleakala is looking for a patient and loving family to help her blossom!
