From the Foster:
Harley is the sweetest, most gentle girl. I think she's still getting used to life of relaxation and love inside a home, but she's adjusting quickly and loving it.
The basics of Miss Harley: she's about 98% potty trained. when she first came to us I don't think she understood where she was to go, but it only has taken a couple days and a good schedule for her to be going potty outside all the time. She is crated during the day, She needs a little encouragement to go kennel and feel safe (treats, kongs, soft music, relaxation). But I do think, with some time adjusting to a new home, she could work her way to free roaming the house when alone, as she's a super calm lady. She gets along great with other dogs and good with cats. She is a grazer when eating and lover of treats. She does OK on a leash, pulls a little at first - but with some direction and practice she'll rock this. I think walking wasn't big in her history, so she could use some more walking practice - going anymore than a mile tires this middle aged lady out. Harley has adjusted so quickly to her new schedule. She sleeps on her special dog bed at night with her foster family. She's not much of a morning person, (but either is her mom), we get up and it takes some calling (and maybe pushing and prodding) until she's ready to take on the day. Once she's up she excited to go outside. We are still working on her basic manners: sit, come, stay. She's a pretty mellow lady; so we're slowly getting there.
Harley is calm, well behaved, and just looking for a family to show her love. I think she spunks up a bit with being able to play with others dogs; but also will do great as an only child hanging out and going for walks.
All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.

If you live in MN, WI, IA, SD, ND, or IL and would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/ and the foster(s) will be in touch! Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s). You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in.
Note - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt that animal. We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received.
