Quick Introduction to Harvey
Oh hello, new friend! My name is Harvey. I’m still a puppy at less than a year old with fun (and, okay, maybe a little bit of mischief!) pumping through my veins! I’m friendly with everyone I meet – people, other dogs, and even cats – but I’m looking for an active home where I can be the only pet. With my entertaining disposition and dashing good looks, you won’t need more than just me!
I found myself in a city shelter at just 6 months old, picked up as a stray. I don’t dwell on my past, so where I was before then is my little secret! Anyway, in March of 2016 an awesome couple (now my foster parents!) scooped me up and brought me home and I’ve been crashing with them ever since.
Harvey’s Time in his Foster Home
Since my foster parents rescued me I’ve learned so much – I’m housetrained, know my commands, and even do super fun things with them like go for runs next to them while they bike (my record speed is 13mph!), hike and go on pack walks with lots of other dogs, and have training sessions with a nice trainer who visits their house. Life is so much better now!
Oh, and just a few other things you should know. I LOVE my crate. Say “bed” and I’m heading right for it! I LOVE sleeping. I will pass out and snore like a boss all night long in my crate! I also LOVE to snuggle, especially if I can climb all over you!
Living with Harvey
My foster family has an older dog and I am pretty pushy with him; trainers have told me I’m “rude.” (That means “super cute,” right?) My foster family has worked really hard to help me learn that I don’t need to be the boss dog, but I’ve made it clear to them that I need to go to a home where I am the only dog. I have had great play dates with other dogs and do just fine with them at adoption events and pack walks, but when it comes to my castle I need to be the king, as the only pet. I have not been around young children, but given my high-energy and affinity for the occasional mischief, I am looking for a home without little kids.
Harvey’s Forever Home
I know there is a home out there for me with an active, adventurous family that will keep channeling my energy and smarts into good stuff! I’d do best in a home with a backyard, and adult(s) who are dedicated to exercising me every day. After we have our workouts, I’m down to snuggle and snore the day away! So what are you waiting for, aren’t you looking for a new right hand man?
