will be undergoing eye surgery to surgically close her eyelids due t blindness
Jo Jo (Flo Jo) is a very eager to please girl. She loves kids and is very gentle with them but due to her being blind, small children are not advised, as she could bump into or step on one by accident. Jo Jo is the perfect house dog, she is kennel trained and house broken. She has little spurts of energy throughout the day and then naps the rest. She knows all of her commands and is very obedient. She needs a home with no cats or dogs. Jo Jo has just graduated from her first obedience class where she learned to handle interactions with most dogs appropriately. There are certain personalities that she doesn't care to be around.
Jo Jo walks well on a leash and has a Halo to assist her on outings. Jo Jo has been blind since birth but gets around as any seeing dog would. She loves toys and is able to track them by smell. After Jo Jo learns her surroundings, she is able to master her way around as if she is not blind. She is fully functional and self sufficient. People watching her have no idea that she is blind due to how well she gets around. She is very people oriented so a home where someone is home most of the day would be preferred. She would make an excellent therapy dog when she matures. She is still quite young but she could start her training to become one anytime.
Although Jo Jo is blind, she still travels and "sees" the world and has probably been to more places than most seeing dogs have been. Jo Jo goes hiking through trails and hillsides, swims in lakes with her life vest and lead and loves her daily walks. Jo Jo has an appreciation for life that most humans take for granted. Jo Jo is ready to share her life with you if you're ready to be inspired by her.
