Hershey is a very sweet pit/chocolate lab mix around 3-4 years old. He only weighs about 40#. He was brought into County Line Pet Hospital as a stray, and sadly no one ever came looking for him. He was getting anxious being at the clinic, as any dog would being in a kennel environment every day. We have no idea why this boy kept getting overlooked for adoption, he is handsome as can be, and was the star of all of the clinic adoption events. After sitting in his kennel run for months hoping for a home, we knew Hershey needed some help getting back to being the fun loving, sweet, happy boy that he was when he first came to us, so he went into foster care with a clinic employee named Felisha. Hershey is thriving in a home, and does great with his foster Pittie sister, and even her cat! Thanks to all of the amazing people that shared Hershey's story, a trainer named Laurie Tuttle got word that Hershey needed help, and volunteered her time and services to help train him. After weeks of hard work, Hershey just finished his training and is doing fantastic! He knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, is easily redirected, and loves to learn. Hershey has a lot of energy and would love a yard to run in and someone to play ball with, but he is also a great snuggler. This boy has had a rough couple of months, but has come out of his funk quite amazingly. He truly deserves a home of his own that will give him space to run and play, possibly continue his training, and give him all the love that he didn't get in his previous home.
All of GOTGM pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We do not adopt to households with pets who have not been spayed and/or neutered unless there is a medical reason. All pets will be fully vetted, UTD on vaccines, micro chipped, treated for parasites, and heartworm tested before adoption. Puppies that are too young for spay/neuter surgery at time of adoption will have the requirement and date included in their adoption contract. Adoption donation is $200 for dogs over 1 year old and $300 for puppies/dogs under 1 year old.
