Hi, my name is Hitch.
My sad story with PBRSD starts when I was found in squalor where I had been abandoned to scrounge through trash for ketchup packages to eat. I was starving and that has created a fear in me of being without food. Because of this, I can be a little protective of food and treats in the home. I get along great with other dogs at play time, but maybe keep the treats for when I'm alone as I am still learning that no one will allow me to starve ever again.
When I'm with my human family I play very gently and love snuggles on the couch!
I love sleeping on my back with my cheeks flapping open so everyone can see my pretty little chompers. I am also good at hiding myself in the blankets which also makes my foster family laugh.
I'm potty trained and crate trained. I do very well eating and sleeping in a crate.
I didn't come with any training, but I am quickly learning that if I want praise and pets, I need to sit and or lay down. My foster family knows me pretty well and they think the perfect family for me would be one that will let me snuggle on the couch with them, give me lots of cuddling and takes me on daily walks.

Four sponsors at $25/month will pay for all of a dog's regular expenses while in our rescue. Additional sponsors help medically fragile dogs with ongoing medical expenses. Can you help?
We encourage you to come out to an upcoming adoption event (posted on the home page of our site) and meet several of the dogs in our rescue to help you determine the best fit for your family.
Personal introductions can be arranged upon completion of an approved adoption application - http://www.pbrsd.com/forms/adoption.htm
