Wire-haired Pointing Griffon

2 years, 10 months
X-Large  |  Female

Holly is a wonderful 3year old 90lbs female full of wiggles and kisses! Great for a active family with kids or active couple/single that has the time, energy, love and warm home to share with the fabulous girl! Holly has been great with all people including children. She is a large dog, needs a home with a yard or ideally on property. No apartments, condo's, exceptions. Would do best in a home that she can be with her people the majority of the day, or at least have access to the yard/property. SHE IS THE PERFECT "COMPANION". Will do nothing but give you goo-goo eyes and shower you with attention. Holly will bark if left for long periods of time in the house/yard. Travels well, jumps into the car/truck, crated at night, walks on a leash, but can be strong at times. Holly would do best as a only dog, or with another dog that is calm and won't jump all over her. She doesn't like dogs she doesn't know jumping and barking at her. She is not a "dog park" dog. Holly is housebroken, not a chewer, VERY loving and loyal. Social with people of all ages, but will protect if needed. (intruder jumping into your home at night) We don't know her exact breed, she was a stray. We don't know if she sheds, or hypoallergenic. Her foster family doesn't have allergies and lives on a ranch. Adoption donation $400 includes her spay, rabies, dhpp vaccine, microchip, worming, frontline, heartworm test, heartgard, bordatella vaccine.
Appointments are available most days, dogs are held for SAME-DAY appointments only. Dogs are fostered in Vacaville, we do not transport or deliver dogs. All potential adopters must travel to vacaville to meet and potentially adopt dog.
Appointments are made between our normal work/family schedule, we are not a center that has set hours. This is a volunteer/foster home run program. Please arrive at the time that is scheduled for your appointment.
Please email to make your appointment or if you have any questions. :)
*Please be ready to adopt when making a appt., we do not hold dogs while you get ready/go on vacation etc. Dogs remain available until they are adopted. If you aren't ready to potentially take a dog home, please contact us when you are. :) This helps keep our available appointments /time productive.
Barking/Digging: Any dog can be or become a barker, or digger if the behavior is allowed and not corrected. A dog can act one way in one home and a completely different way in another.
Whining/Anxiety: The first few days in a new home, a adopted dog can become VERY upset, anxious and vocal. Every home they go into, there is a adjustment period that will need to be understood. We suggest "test"runs when you leave the dog alone. Make is short segments first and increase the time. This way the dog knows you are always coming back. Make sure they have something to keep themselves occupied with while you are away.
BITING: Please do not EVER put your face in a newly adopted dogs face or take food/toys our of their mouth or position. This is the surest and fastest way to get bit. Especially children.
Adopting a dog takes time, patience and a commitment from his/hers new family, please be prepared for ALL the ups and downs when bringing home a wonderful dog in need.
