Hi there. My name is Hope. I am up to date with vaccines and spayed. I am a Mastiff X (foster mom says Husky!) who for whatever reason, landed myself in a shelter. Thankfully, Homeward Bound rescued me and gave me a chance to find my forever family. My foster mom says that I am a big cuddle bug who will actually wrap my paws around you and close my eyes to give you as big a hug as possible. I am always at my foster humans' feet and love to be around them as much as possible. Given that I am part Husky, I LOVE the outdoors! I love to play and run and chase my foster brother around the yard. I am quite the jumper and runner given my lean physique and "mush dog" genes and would certainly need a high, fenced in yard to avoid me jumping the fence and getting lost. I am house trained but sometimes get so excited when my foster humans come home that I accidentally piddle a little bit. Sorry...I am still quite young and excitable. This will change as I mature I'm sure of it. I am a little nervous when first meeting new dogs and can get a little agitated if I am introduced too quickly and not given time to adjust. I do not bite but will certainly let other dogs know that they are bothering me and to back off. I do like my own space and would prefer to be around humans rather than other dogs. I definitely do not like dominant male dogs and would prefer a home with a more submissive/laid back/smaller dog(s). My foster brother is that kind of dog and we play and cuddle together all the time. I can be a bit whiny if I am left alone. This is also my cue for "I need to go to the bathroom". I am crate trained and do just fine in a crate. My foster mom tells me I have an excellent recall and am doing fantastic with leash training (she says I'm much smarter than my foster brother but I'm not allowed to tell him she said that). I am continuing to learn manners and recently learned how to "roll over" in minutes, but only for peanut butter. My foster parents are working with me and say I am showing improvements every day-not that I have bad manners I just haven't had much stability and training. As long as I keep getting peanut butter, I will show as many improvements as possible! I am very attached to my 16 year old foster sister (mainly because she lets me sleep in her big comfy bed). Just so I have the best opportunity possible at finding my forever home, I would probably be better off in a home with children over 12 as I have not been around small children to know whether I like them or not. What else can I say...come meet me for a hug :)"*Hope is being fostered in Oshawa*
