Meet Ian. Ian was a stray, found fending for himself. He was saved from a busy Richardson street in the middle of a rainstorm…luckily, his rescuer knew of Take Me Home Pet Rescue. He ended up with us and in the loving arms of one of our office volunteers who doubles as a cat foster!
In addition to being underweight (initially we thought he was a kitten), he had noticeable trauma to his right eye. It was cloudy, weeping and smaller than his other eye. It was impossible to see his pupil. A visit to the vet right away confirmed that Ian had scar tissue covering the entire cornea…most likely caused by an earlier injury to the eye that was never treated. Unfortunately, he wasn't getting any use of that eye. Thanks to generous donors, Ian had eye surgery to remove the eye.
But guess what? He gets along just fine without it. He loves to run zoomies through his foster's house, chasing toys and the house cats and dog! He will play fetch with fuzzy ball toys and loves to climb the cat tower. He is one cool dude of a cat with a great attitude! He has been through so much in his first year and he still loves and trusts humans.
Ian has recovered from surgery and gained a healthy amount of weight. He will do well in a home where he gets lots of attention. With proper introduction, he will do well in a home with other cats or cat-friendly dogs. Who's ready to add a cool dude to their family?
Ian's approximate birthday is 5/27/2015.
