About Me: Hi, I’m Jake. I’m a sweet, gentle Domestic Short Hair male with tuxedo coloring and extra toes on my front paws. I can be a bit shy at first, which can likely be attributed to my life before rescue. (They think I may have come from a hoarding situation.) However, I'm coming along quite nicely and now enjoy cuddling. I’m content to lay by your side and get petted. Just recently, I finally made my way up to my foster mom's bedroom in the middle of night, climbed in bed with her, and sniffed her hair. She was a little startled yet she was so happy to see I'm getting more comfortable around people. I’m one of those guys who has the relaxation thing down to a “T,” but sometimes I like to show my silly side. I like to sit in empty boxes. I’m living with a five-pound dog right now, and I'm afraid of him. Because I've had my front paws declawed before coming into rescue, I would do best in a home with non-aggressive dogs or alone, I'm not a fan of other cats - I don't fight them, but I show my displeasure with sharing my space by not using my litter box. I, myself, don’t have a mean bone in my body. I’ve outgrown the whole “playing with toys” phase so I’d probably do best with older kids who will respect my age and my space. If you’re looking for a mellow, low maintenance guy to laze around the house with you, then we should arrange a meeting.
I’m altered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, including rabies. I tested negative for Felv/FIV.
