This poor sweet girl is an owner release. Officers were called to pick her up shortly after she had a litter of puppies. The officers questioned the owner and was told all the puppies have been given away. Now the poor momma is also turned over to Animal Control. It is terrible! In the long run, it is probably the best thing that could have happened to her as she has not been cared for very well and is very thin. Janie is friendly with other dogs and is grateful for any attention you are willing to give. She deserves a great life and a loving family who will care about her! She is great with all dogs -people-kids! she is the ambassador of lab/pits! She is heartworm positive but no symptoms and will undergo tx in next 1-2 months

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
