DOB: 2002 - 2005
Jasper is a mature kitty; an amiable and gentlemanly fellow who not only has a very silly side, but absolutely craves all of the love and attention you will shower on him. This guy even loves loves loves being held like a baby, and there's a lot of him to love. And, he comes when you call his name!
His back story: he belonged to a neighbor along with 3 other cats, which overwhelmed her. Due to being free-fed the cheapest food, and not getting any activity, he was morbidly obese at 25 lbs. when I first catsit for him and his roommates. When his owner went into a nursing home, she sent him to the L.A. Animal Shelter, where he languished in fear, ignored because of this and his not being a pretty kitten. When they called to tell me they were going to euthanize him, I rescued him and started giving him all of the love, attention, and (just the right amount) of good food. Today he is a svelte 12.6 lbs.!! He's a big-boned fella with a big head, so he'll never be thin, but that just means more to love.
Jasper loves to play with toys, and will frequently run around and race up and down his cat tree having a good old-fashioned kitty freak-out, when he's not having the usual cat-naps. And he will come over a lot asking for some love and lap-time, so you'll have lots of cuddle time. Excellent companion for any adult, and best suited to being the only kitty. He does get along with my other cats, but he will occasionally start a spat or chase after one of them just for amusement, so homing with other cats is possible but probably not ideal.
