Jax is a beautiful 4 year old, 16 pound apricot poodle. He was discarded by a poodle breeder to a shelter when they no longer needed him. Having never lived anywhere but a cage he shut down at the shelter, so we stepped in and brought him into a caring home. Now Jax sees how life is supposed to be and he is loving it. In just a short time Jax is seeking human touch, treats, and learning to be a companion. Also, he has learned to walk on a leash, climb stairs and keep his crate clean. Jax follows his foster Mom around and begs for attention, giving her a ton of kisses. He has started to play with toys and runs around with his dog sisters.
Jax has accomplished so much in just a short time, but he still has trust issues. His initial reaction is to run when approached, but if you let him come to you he is fine. Its important to gain his trust before attempting to handle him. Being afraid and handled roughly is all Jax has known. Forcing him to do anything or being firm will just foster his fears. This is typical of breeder dogs who have been isolated and treated poorly. To better understand

Jax is a special boy who requires only positive reinforcement, patience and lots of love. But in return he will give so much more. We believe he will continue to make leap and bounds in the right environment. A quiet dog savvy adult home, a friendly dog sibling, and lots of treats is his dream home!!
