Jewel is a 3-year-old 19-lb. gem of a dog. Turned in to a shelter when her owner had to move to an apartment, Jewel was thrilled to be rescued and she shows it by being an absolute delight. She loves attention and will give you the softest loving look, and sometimes when she kisses you, she will add a tender nibble. She's friendly to everyone she meets, including children, and is so accepting of touching and affection that she would make a great therapy dog. Jewel gets along with other dogs and is quite adaptable to their varying temperaments. If they like to play, she's game, but if they prefer to be left alone, she respects that too. Jewel would love to be adopted by a large family, by someone with an active social life (that includes her), or by just about anyone who has love in their heart and time to devote to her sweetness. And she dreams of a home with a fenced yard where she can freely engage in two of her favorite activities--hunting for lizards and basking in the sun on beautiful days. She is fully potty trained and is working on her diet and exercise to get down to her ideal weight of 16 lbs.
