We rescued Joshua along with 5 other dogs from Pinon Hills where he was living on a property with 40 plus other dogs. Our intention was to rescue 16 dogs, but because of their fear and lack of socialization, simply scooping them up was not an option. It took us 2 hours to catch 6. They have never had human interaction, other than with the man living on the property.
Joshua has been with us for about a month now and is slowly coming around. Although he is still shy, he enjoys eating treats gently out of your hand and having his head scratched. He is learning to walk on a leash and enjoys curling up on a cozy blankets.
If you’re interested in adopting Joshua, please fill out our adoption application online or at the center. Once we have interviewed and approved your application, we will require multiple visits until we feel he is comfortable enough with you to go home. We are also requiring Joshua go home with another dog or have an existing dog in the home who he gets along with. A home check will be required.
We don’t know how Joshua is with kids, so older kids are best.
