Kanga has been a super mom and will be a great family dog. She is very affectionate and definitely wants to spend time with her people and be loved. She is not a dog who will just laze around and ignore what is going on around her. She is smart and learns quickly, but with this intelligence wants direction. She is probably not suited for a family who is never home or does not want their dog to be part of daily activities. She is a jumper but learned very quickly not to jump on the foster mom, though needs more reminders not to jump on the kids. I think this can easily be taught, but the kids will need to be part of the training. She will do well with male dogs but need a proper/slow introduction to females. She learned in a few second to respect the cats, and did not chase them. She has not chewed, appears to be house trained, and does not jump on the furniture. We did however find her napping on the hot tub cover and she barely hops to get on top of a large crate, so a short fence will not be enough. Kanga came to us HW+ but is undergoing treatment to take care of it. She is about 3 years old and is current on her vaccinations. Kanga has a beautiful Catahoula coat.
