Kipley is a 10 year old yellow lab that weighs approximately 65 pounds. Don’t let his age fool you though; he has lots of energy that he likes to use throughout the day!
Kipley is great with people of all ages, is very gentle and respectful of children. He does not jump or nip at them ever. He is very docile and knows how to control himself when in their presence. Kipley has never met a stranger in his life – he likes to think of every person as a friend, regardless of if he has met them or not. He is also currently living with two cats and just ignores them, he never chases them – they aren’t interesting enough in his opinion. Kipley is also good with other dogs. He can be a bit shy around dominant dogs but he has never been aggressive when approached by a dominant dog.
Kipley is house trained and can hold his bladder for 8-9 hours. He is crated while his foster is away and behaves excellent in his kennel. He calms down immediately when he is in the crate and he has never had an accident while in it (he will bark if he needs to go potty). Kipley does shed some but he LOVES to be brushed so a couple of good brushes a week will really limit the amount of shedding in the house.
Although he is great in the house, he loves to be outside running around and exploring. He would do best in a home with a fenced in yard but he currently does not live in town and respects the boundaries of his yard. Kipley’s favorite thing to do outside is play fetch! He loves his tennis balls and will throw them at you to get your attention. This is the one of the only times he will bark, in order to get your attention. Kipley could play fetch for hours on end, his foster family is working on creating a specific time and place for the game‐ otherwise he can get too worked up about it. Kipley is also great on walks, he doesn’t pull on the leash and tends to walk in a straight line.
*Kipley is currently on medication for his thyroid. It is just one pill a day, which is foster hides in his food.
Kipley is such a loving and peaceful dog. He is very well behaved, gets along great with everyone and everything, doesn’t require a lot of supervision (he keeps himself entertained), and he loves to play – he is going to make some family VERY happy, could it be you?
