INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PET:
Kitney is about 3 years old. Very calm and sweet demeanor.
Coos and talks all the time. Loves her canned food. She was unsure about brushing
as she might have never been brushed. She is getting used to it. She does know being petted feels really good.
When I sit on the floor, she snuggles right against me. She has begun to jump on my lap
for attention. She still plays with toys. She has been a great foster mom to the little kitten.
She makes sure he is very clean and comforted. She is spayed,up to date with shots,is FIV positive, leukemia negative.
Although some potential adopters are wary of bringing cats and kittens into the home with a cat that has tested positive for FIV, many experienced volunteers and local veterinarians welcome FIV cats to live among their non FIV cats.
Felive FIV is basically an immune deficiency and may make the cat more vulnerable to infections.
In a loving home where a cat is given nutritious food and a healthy enviornment, an FIV positive feline will typically live a normal life.
FIV IS NOT contagious to humans or dogs. A cat can only get it through a bite wound.
FIV IS NOT passed by sharing food and water dishes, or casual contact.
