Meet Klondike! This sweetheart has had a tough beginning. He was in some type of sad situation where he was not treated well and he has quite a few small, but visible, scars. Even though his physical wounds have healed, Klondike needs a family willing to put in the time to help heal his invisible wounds and help him learn that life is not about being worried, it is about being loved. He has already become a volunteer favorite with his kind eyes and sweet disposition. Klondike moved into his foster home recently and is taking it easy and just enjoying the love and attention. He is fostered with another dog and he is fine with her around. He is mellow and likes to hang out. Klondike will flinch or drop his head a little when he is pet on his head, it is heartbreaking to watch, but he will lean into you once he is comfortable to get more pets. He definitely is in store for a lot of love and affection, and he definitely deserves it. Klondike absolutely loves going for rides the car! If you roll down all the windows and go for a drive, he gets visibly happy and wants to try and sit up front with you. He is also fascinated with squeaky toys! He walks pretty well on a leash, pulling occasionally, but he corrects very easily, he is also house trained. Klondike does not like to be crated, he will go in nicely and hang out, but once you leave he will quietly break out and head for the couch to nap. We think this boy has probably been locked up enough and he should have free rein of the house (he can also open baby gates). Klondike would do better with a more mellow family, and if he has a dog friend, a nicer, more mellow one will help him acclimate and flourish in his new home. A positive routine would do this boy wonders, and he is looking for that special family who will be patient with him as he learns to get comfortable and come out of his shell. He is already very sweet and loving, so it will only get better! If you think you can provide the right home for him apply to adopt today, and thank you for considering a rescue dog!
The adoption includes the altering of the dog, current vaccinations, and microchipping.
