Kronos in CO

Great Pyrenees

X-Large  |  Male

Beacon, NY

Meet striking Kronos, a.k.a Buckley - a name chosen by the students of the school at which his foster mommy works. Kronos LOVES his people, preferring to be inside near them instead of outdoors, and is friendly to every single person he meets, especially children. He is a handsome, extremely intelligent, and resilient guy who was long neglected but has made great strides in his recovery- he is jubilant and living life like any other dog, in most ways. Kronos is a smarty who is housebroken, crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and rides well in the car. He is a doll! As mentioned, he is very attached to his person/people and makes great use of his “Pyr Paw” in communicating his needs and getting affection. He also has a voracious appetite, putting on a much needed 30 pounds since being rescued. He is highly food motivated, which, when coupled with his intelligence, makes it easy to teach him new tricks; he already knows how to sit, stay, and come when called.

Given his current state of recovery, Kronos would do best in a home where he is the only beloved and well-tended-to pet. Sometimes, his ailments can make him irritable, and though he always gets along with female dogs (and dogs of both sexes when on walks), his foster family thinks he would flourish in his own, comfortable space. He could also likely be placed in a home with another submissive dog, provided they’re not male. In his foster mom’s own words, “he is a great boy!” Will you be the one to give this deserving, sweet, and exceptional baby a safe and loving forever home?

About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes so we know how they will interact with your family. Please consider adopting or fostering. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. Prior to adoption, NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks (usually more), spayed or neutered and fully vetted. Dogs coming from out of area are certified with a USDA health certificate before going to their new homes. Our rescuers adhere to the highest placement standards and will take back any dog whose adoption does not succeed. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
