Sweet Leilah was found in Fort Worth in December 2015 by her current foster. She had rope burns around her neck, was malnourished and limping. Intending to keep Leilah, the fosters crate and housetrained her, immunized, spayed, chipped, placed her on heart worm preventive and all of the rest. The vet thinks that she is roughly 18 months old.
Leilah has now become a happy, very active and super healthy girl of around 50 pounds. She runs and jumps like a deer and is very fast. Leilah’s new home would ideally be with active people and/or kids that can give her plenty of attention. Her current fosters both work long hours, and Leilah’s youthful energy makes that long time apart difficult for her!
Leilah loves the outdoors and other dogs and affection from people as well. She likes all of the toys that she’s met, too! She can fetch and sit and "go to bed" (crate). She does need a bit more socialization with people. Her foster’s say that Leilah is one of the sweetest dogs they’ve ever met. She would be great for a single owner (or couple or family) familiar with the breed. She could also be a great service dog or companion dog for whoever love and understand the amazing loyalty of a pit bull. She is a perfect pick for anyone who is looking for a lively female pit bull puppy who needs more attention than we can give her.
If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet!
The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Leilah is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
