Leon is an adorable boy who will be leaving the vet clinic tomorrow after being abandoned there by his family. He is very sweet and good with other dogs. He is also good with cats. Leon has some issues with his rear leg and he is heartworm positive. He will be seeing the vet and will be moved to a longer term foster home very soon.
UPDATE: Leo has settled into his foster home but not without some challenges. He is feeling better and getting around much better after getting started on medication for what is believed to be an infection that was left untreated and that went to his spine. He loves food and treats and is learning how to play with toys. He has no problem getting up on the bed :)
THE LATEST: Leo Bear has completed heartworm treatment. He is crate trained and housebroken, however, due to previous neglect, he has some issues expressing his bladder so his foster mom has learned to help him with that. He does dribble a little bit of urine and after trying many different things, Kelly found diapers for him that work great and he doesn't mind wearing. He has had a couple of urinary tract infections, also most likely due to previous infection being left untreated. After a round of antibiotics he is back to his happy, healthy, wiggling, kissing self :) Leo has come so, so very far. He is a very friendly and social boy and has become a wonderful foster furbrother to all of kitties and other dogs who have come to stay for a while.
