A volunteer writes: He may be named for an ancient warrior King, but the only thing this Leonidas plans to conquer is your heart! A creamsicle-colored mush with the face of an angel and a tail that just won''t quit, his favorite way to pass the day is meeting new friends of all species, going for long walks in the park, and chowing down on as many tasty treats as you care to give him. Energetic and full of fun but very nicely trained, Leo leashes up like a pro and walks well, too, taking care of all his business promptly and passing other dogs with a friendly wiggle butt. He''ll jump up on the nearest bench for snuggles, come, sit and hug on command and while he loves to play fetch and tug-o-war, this good guy doesn''t guard his things and accepts food with the gentlest touch. A lover of people, dogs and life in general, Leo''s practically a puppy at just a year old (and still has the silky soft fur to prove it), but he''s already neutered and well on his way to rock-star adulthood . Finish up the great work his previous owners started by welcoming Leonidas into your family, and start enjoying a lifetime of love today!
Another volunteer writes:I passed many times in front of Leonidas'' kennel and did not stop, saying `OMG`. A dog reveals itself in action, even in a shelter environment and even more in a home setting. I begun to appreciate gorgeous Leonidas while he was being walked by other volunteers. A young strong guy, always, really always enjoying the company of a human, well built and so healthy looking. A sunshine face, ready for all adventures. A great smile. I also witnessed how appreciated he was by those handling him and walking him. I read one by one the comments made by the same people, expressing how much they liked Leonidas, the words strong, handsome, sweet and friendly covering three pages...I got my chance at meeting him personally yesterday. What a gorgeous dog! Leashed without effort, we walked and sat in the front yard. Leo took very gently treats from my hand, posed his forelegs on my lap, kissed me , then rolled on his back for belly rubs. A babe.... His coat is so velvety, shimering under the night lights. It was a quiet and sweet time. I was sad to bring him back but Leo was content to lay on a soft bedding and chew a large rawhide. Leonidas will need you very soon.
