Hi there. My name is Lexi and I am searching for my forever home.
I am a very sweet, gentle, and loving middle age gal who is the perfect companion. I like nothing more than snuggling up on my cozy dog bed or even better, next to you on the couch for a long and relaxing nap. I have perfect house manners and being a sophisticated older girl, I don’t chew on things or make messes when I am bored. A daily walk and a short play session with my toys or a game of fetch in the yard is enough exercise for me.
Everyone who meets me thinks that I am such a beautiful girl and I just LOVE to meet people, especially kids! I was raised with children and I don’t jump on them or try to take their toys. I don’t counter surf or beg for food and I take treats very gently when they are offered. I am very well trained with a whole set of skills, including good recall, walking on a loose leash, sit, stay, go to bed. I also know several really fun tricks like shake, high-five, roll over, and I will hold a treat on my nose until you tell me to “get it”.
I will need to meet any animals in your home to be sure that I would like to live with them. I get along well with other dogs as long as they are mellow. My foster parents are not sure about cats because I get excited and want to chase them. I do have a bit of a prey drive so if I see a squirrel, my foster parents tell me to “leave it” and always re-direct my attention immediately.
I can be left alone at home either in my crate or loose in the house, but I really just prefer to be with my people. Did I tell you that I love to go for rides in the car? Just ask my foster parents about all the smudges on their car windows. I willingly sleep in my crate at night but I really hope that you will invite me to join you on the bed so I can keep you warm and snuggle with you.
I came to Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue when my family could no longer care for me and they surrendered me to an animal shelter. I was very skinny and timid when I first arrived at my foster home. However, I immediately figured out that a foster home is a GOOD thing and I really began to thrive. Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue got me some medical attention that I needed (I had some benign tumors removed from my mammary glands and I was spayed) so that I can stay healthy and live out a very long life.
My foster family says that I am the best dog they have ever fostered and they have fostered a lot of dogs! I am so excited to find a forever home where I can live out the rest of my life as a loving companion. Don’t I sound like the perfect match for you?
