Red headed Sweetie
No Long distance adoptions (over 1hr from Hernando, MS).
Miss Lili is a sweetheart who is finally coming into her own in her foster home after a couple of weeks. Initially, she was a little stand-offish with both animals and humans, preferring to lay a ways away from the pack, but now is starting to demand her attention along with the others. I think in a home with less canine competition, she will turn into a full on cuddle-bug!
Lili seems to like most people, especially men! That's normal since her primary care-giver was a human before. She likes older kids just fine as long as they're old enough not to grab or tug on her tail which is somewhat sensitive. I would not place her in a home with a child under about 10yo or with a lot of noise and chaos. She has a little anxiety that may or may not be situational, meaning it may improve in the right environment with the right human. She takes a little prescription pill to help her right now and comes with a nice supply of them. Like most small dogs, Lili is a little temperamental with larger dogs wanting them to know from the start that she's no pushover. I think she would adapt to one as a housemate if they weren't too intrusive. That's why we have trial adoption periods though - to find out.
Lili is very well behaved. She is used to going potty on a pad in the home and we're working at only using them in emergencies now. She walks well on a leash, though her excitement at going bye bye makes it a little hard to hook her up - she does an adorable little dance. She rides well in a car.
Lili is up to date on her vaccinations, tested Heartworm negative and is on preventative. She comes with a few months of preventative. If you would like to meet Miss Lili, let us know and we'll let you know when our next event is so you can talk with her foster mom and get all your questions answered. I adopted my baby from DARS and it went very smoothly. I really like the fact that they foster them in their homes so they know them very well. I appreciate the time and care they take in selecting the best match for the animals and they couldn't have been nicer!
