Lucy (previously known as Hermione) is a all-around awesome kitty. Athletic and playful, she knows how to keep herself (and you!) entertained, but she also plays wells with dogs. She is intelligent, eager to please, and is a joy to be around. She is so trainable that she easily learned how to walk on a leash and harness, and does well on leash for short excursions. She is also known to enjoy being carried around in a special "Baby Bjorn" type cat carrier. She is totally portable!
She is a beautiful tuxedo kitty with a super shiny black coat, and a little bit of white on her chin, and four white paws. Most people remark about her unusual amber-gold colored eyes, which are very pretty. And she has white whiskers that create a striking contrast against her silky black coat! She is a meticulous groomer!
She loves her humans and follows them around, and prefers to sleep near them, but isn't overbearing. She does great with dogs that are cat-friendly. While she has done well with other cats in her foster home, she tends to guard resources around them, so she needs to be an only cat.
Lucy had the misfortune of being abandoned in a rural area far from Hogwarts, where opportunities for adoption are slim to none. Lucky for her, DC PAWS was able to rescue them from certain death and we're trying to help them find good homes.
She is ready for a forever home to call her own! Her foster family will miss her to pieces, but would love for her new family to enjoy her while she is still a kitten.
Please note that cats adopted through DC PAWS must be indoor only, and may not be declawed.

About DC PAWS Rescue

Our rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue in the DC area. We partner with a local rescuer in Pickens County, SC, who saves adoptable cats and dogs from the county’s animal control facility, which lacks the resources to facilitate adoptions to the public. Without a mechanism for local adoptions, all animals not claimed within the mandated hold period are euthanized. For the animals in this rural area, rescue is really the only lifeline. Our rescue partner not only works with DC PAWS to save as many dogs and cats as possible, but she has also established a successful spay/neuter clinic in the community to decrease the number of homeless and unwanted animals over the long term.
