Lucy Mae is a 9 pound, 13-year-old Maltese. She's a gentle little dog who enjoys playing with friendly pups and is very sweet when meeting new people. She adores being held and will gladly put her feet up on your knee to ask to be picked up. Her favorite place to be is cuddled in your lap. Her perfect adopter can give her lots of time, attention and love.
Lucy Mae is mostly blind due to cataracts so she'll need someone that doesn't mind looking out for her. She's still quite brave and carefully explores her surroundings. She also has glaucoma and at some point may need to have her eyes or one eye removed, but at this point Lucy Mae can see light and shadows and her eyes are not painful to her. She does need daily eye drops and semi annual vet visits to recheck her eye.
She is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She is also trained to use a puppy pad if she needs to. At night, Lucy Mae sleeps on her little dog bed. She has never met a kitty before so we're not sure how she would feel about them.
Lucy Mae's guardian is very ill and the family is no longer able to care for her.
